Oktoberfest – 200 Jahre!

Okey, time to tell the world about my experiences at Oktoberfest. Well. Where to start. As you might now, I travelled alone. First Daniel and me went to Schoonhoven and his family again. They are such a friendly family, and I slept there one night. No problems at all. I’ve felt very comfertable and welcomed every time I’ve been there, this time as well. You just got to like them! Sunday evening, Daniel got visit from a old friend. The three of us went out for a beer, at Schoonhoven’s local pub. It was. Intresting. Especially because of all the stories I got served from their childhood. (And me, who thought Daniel was such a nice boy. Man, I was wrong. Haha) Anyway, it was fun!

Monday, before my travel towards Münich started, i borrowed Tessa, Daniels sisters, bike, and went for a bikeride to Schoonhoven centrum. Even if it was rainy I made some awesome photos. Btw; Schoonhoven is ”eine zilverstadt” :P A nice place, for sure. Then my travel towards Münich started, first the bus to Utrecht, and then from Utrecth to Münich. 10 hours. During nighttime. Cool enough. If it hadn’t been so cold! I was freezing like an aussie would do in Norway, and thats pretty bad! But finally we were there. All I knew where that my hostel were a tent they set up only for Oktoberfest every year, and I also had the adress. Therefor I waved at a taxi, and told him to drive me there. The german taxidriver didn’t speak english, and me and my german isn’t that much to brag about. But. I think it was pretty cool. ’cause somehow we managed to communicate anyway. I understood more german then he understood english though. Anyway, he told me that, no. There were no hostel at this adress. Only partybars. I said he was wrong, and told him to drive me there anyway. When we finally got there, I saw nothing else than partypubs and bars everywhere! Really. Everywhere! In the middle of a industrie area. I got literally shocked, and had no idea what to do. The taxidriver said sorry, and asked if I wanted him to drive me back, or what I had in my mind. I think I looked very sad and disappointed when I said yes, drive me back. So he turned of his engine and went out to ask some random people. Suddenly he turns, smiles at me, and gives me thumbs up. When he get back in the taxi, he turnes of the taxtametre and says he know where it is. I’m sure we drove around for 15 minutes or so, before we finally found the tent in the middle of nowhere. Pjoh! It was a pretty big tent/hostel, and I’m sure there were over 1000 people there at the same time. Awesome!

Im not gonna give a detailed description of what happend the next 6 days, beacuse to be honest. I have no idea. Haha. Well. I know what i did. But I have no idea which day it was. But first of all. I met Kara from Australia. A girl I first met in Prague when I were there in February. Kinda cool to catch up again! I also met her boyfriend Cliff, they were really awesome! Togheter with them I met their friends and their friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends. It was coolio. Really look forward to my Australia adventure to begin, where I for sure will meet them again! The last days I also met Daniel, Job and Marchezza again. The dutchies I lived with in Rotterdam. It was really awesome! We had alot of fun, especially me and Daniel at Kultfabrik Saturdaynight. Whitout saying anything more about that ;) Whitout these people which I knew from before, I made alot of new friends. From all over the world! I can mention people from Ireland, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, USA, Sweden, Italy, France, Canada, Australia, Israel and England. Some of them will I for sure stay in touch with, others were just during those days. It was alot of fun anyways!

And. Not to forget. Celebrating birthday at Oktoberfest was awesome! The 29th of September, I went to a pubcrawl, where I met some people I also had met the day before. I had ofcourse told them that my birthday were the 30th, so when the time went over midnight, I got surprised by everyone suddenly starting to sing the birthdaysong! It was so cool, but also a bit embarassing. Haha. During this party I got alot of free beers, but the coolest ”present” was a shot called B52. I’ve heard about it before, but never seen it, or tryed it. So when the bartender came to us with two shots on FIRE, I got really freaked out! I cant shot that! Its fucking on fire! But they convinced me, no problemo. Just put in the straw and shot it fast! Everything! And I did it! Yay! On our way to another bar, we met two drunk buddies, and two of the people I was with said to them, ”hey guys! She’s a birthdaygirl! Say congratz!” The two guys turned around and looked pretty shocked before one of them said: ”Noway! It’s his birthday as well!” None of us belived them ofcourse, but we saw his passport, and it was true! Haha, what’s the chance? Next day, when I woke up, I found a rose on my pillow, which totally made my day! It was from German, a spanish guy I shared room with. He had already left for the airport, but it was so kind and cute of him! Later on, in one of the oktoberfest’s beertent, I met some crazy irish people. Of them (or to be honest, from the really wasted one) I got four teddybears. Well. It was four. But then he started to give them away to others. I though: ”noway! Their mine now!” So the last two did I put in my purse pretty fast. I saved them! This evening I also met 3 swedish men. They were sooooo old, that they could be my father (hey dad, dont worry, ur not old!), but it was so nice to finally talk norwegian again! They were kinda funny, and they bought me beer and something to eat as well! :) Nice, right? I also got a kiss on my birthday! But only on my cheek. Who it was from? I wonder… :)

Well. I think this is enough. I’m not even sure if someone have time to read all this. Haha. But it doesnt matter, I write mostly for myself, not for others ;)

Just a few more lines:P On Sunday, I got a ride back with Job, Daniel, Marchezza and Konstantin. It was a long ride, but since I dont have driver’s license (haha, hurray!), I could sleep all way home! Home. Err… Rotterdam I mean.  I stayed in Rotterdam for two more nights, including some beers at Oude Haven with Daniel, Pim and Corine. It was nice, I truly enjoy Rotterdam! If I didn’t have Australia plans, I would definately moce to Rotterdam for a longer period!

Right now, I’m in Amsterdam. At ”StayOkey Hostel”. Its as they say…, okey. The hostel in Prague and Dublin was way more better, but again, its okey. They have 24 hours reception, nice rooms, enough showers, an awesome breakfast, and wachingmachine. The waschingmachine is expencive though. 7,50 Euro for one wash. Bah. Amsterdam itself, is more okey now, than what I thought it was last time I was here. The tourists are still everywhere, and so aret he bikes, but its okey. I think I will get more used to it after a while. Tomorrow. Is the day when I will meet my future work! How exciting ain’t that?

But people. I want visit! I really really want visit! So everyone of you that have said your coming! No way back! Who will be the first? Frank? Adnan? Daniel? Stina? Henny? Maria? Jose? Sonia? Javi? Carlos? Matze? Torstein?  Helene? Tine? Daddy-D? Mummy-M? Come on guys, V-I-S-I-T me before I travel even further away! AUSTRALIA!!! Ah, cant wait. (yea, I know, not everyone of the one I mentioned have promised to visit.. but come anyway) :P

Diary #1

Hello world!

Holland is amazing!
And here I am. Still alive. Enjoying everything. Having fun. Meeting people. CREATING MEMORIES!

When I arrived at Schiphool on wednesday, I met Daniel and Job. Two awesome dutch guys I know from.. erm.. Thats another story ;) Anyway, Im glad they had time to pick me up, because Schiphool was amazingly big! So I didnt need to think about anything, just follow them and watch my luggage! Yay. Thanx alot knapperts! I arrived kinda late, so after grabbing something to eat at BurgerKing, we went to their home in Rotterdam and felled asleep pretty fast.

The next day I joined Daniel at his parents house in Schonhoven. About 45 minutes outside Rotterdam. At the countryside. It’s really beutiful, green fields as far as you can see, cows (nooo way?) and all this little rivers around. Its so different from what I’m used to in Norway, and..yeah.. I just cant describe it. Awesome! Afterwards I went to Rotterdam centrum, trying to find out where things can be found and where to go. I found the shoppingstreet pretty easy. If I bought something? A CELLPHONE! Yeaaa! So now, I finally have one, after 9 months whitout. Some hours later, I met Daniel again and we went for a drink before we headed back to his place and his roomies. In the evening Job, Marchessa and me ordered chinese (which was awesome, why arent that more common in Norway??), and we watched a dutch TV-show about a bunch of silly dutch people partying at some exotic island. Yeah. The realityshows are just as stupid here, as in Norway. And. I found out that dutch arent so hard to understand. Many words are basically the same as in either english, norwegian or german, so if I really try. I understand some words ;)

Being a real tourist at McDonald's.

Looking too long at this houses makes me dizzy.

Yesterday. Job took me for sightseeing Rotterdam. I took some pictures and afterwards I wandered a bit by myself. When it was time for lunch I met Daniel and we found a nice spot next to a river. A bit like «Solsiden» in Trondheim. And guess what. I had 2 beers and a huge baguette with eggsalad and baguette for around 70 NOK. Im so amazed over the prices here… Just gotta love it. Later on we went back to Schonhoven and his family for a delicious dinner, before we went to the centrum in Schonhoven. If I thought the fields were nice, the centrum was even more amazing! The streets are so cozy, with water, trees, swans, old houses and bricks instead of conqrete! Its really idyllic, and the liquiorshop! WOW. It was a tiny store, and the shopkeeper were so nice and friendly! I would never thought that a liquiorshop could be cozy, but this one… for sure! Next on the agenda was to drive his sister and friends to a party in a nearby village. Nieuwpoort was the name, and I’m for sure going back! Well.., yes. Schonhoven was really nice, but Nieuwpoort… A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Its just like taken out of a romantic movie! Unfortenlately it was to dark to take photos, but no doubt about it. I’m going back! When we finally were at R’dam again, we had some drinks, and ordered some turkish food, before we headed out for the city night-life. Riva was the bar, and there we met some of Daniel’s friends. It was really fun, but we had to go back home early to get up today. Well. Early and early. The time was about 03.00 am, but the bars didnt really close ;) It was still alot of people there, partying like hell :D

Typical Dutch street.

Its better in reality though. I'm not the best photographer ;)

Today’s been a intresting day. I had to wake up around 08.30 am, and just one hour later, me and Daniel went to R’dam centralstation to meet Judith and Majo. Two exchangestudents from Germany and Peru. Two portuguese girls came as well, and togheter we all took the train in to Amsterdam, where Daniel had to be our personal guide. I really liked Amsterdam, but its also full of tourists. Like everywhere! And if its not tourists. Its bikes. Bikes, bikes and scooters. I have no idea about how many times Daniel saved me from being runned over by bikes or scooters. They are fricking everywhere! So my hot-tip for you if you are planning a visit to Holland, Amsterdam is a nice city with alot of old buildings and nice rivers with nice bridges, and yes. They do have coffee-shops and Red Light District. And I’m sure its an awesome place for young tourists  that want some adventure. But please! Try one of the other cities as well! I promies you, you wont regret. And seriously. The coffeeshops aren’t only in Amsterdam ;)

Amsterdam <3

So yes. As you might understand, Im having a great time here. I have the best host ever, he really takes good care of me ;) Holland is awesome. And the weather is good ;) Its warm. Its sunny. And its raining. I LOVE it! Yesterday it was thunder and lightning as well, but really. I do love the weather. It can be like a normal norwegian summerday one minute, the other one its raining like hell again, before it suddenly goes back to sunny summerweather. I’m wearing my summerclothes, and I hope this will last, because its like the rest.. awesome!

Proost, Patsy!

Buzz Lightyear

Two people. Thanx to both. You know who your are. They dont know eachother. But both have been talking about «to feel«. They have teached me that I dont need to think all the time. To feel can be enough. If I just can seperate the thoughts and the feelings. Im working with it. And the feeling I have at the moment. Isnt the best feeling Ive had. But Im not sure if its 100% the feeling yet. It might be some thoughts there as well. As I said, Im working with it. I just hope Im wrong. Really.

But whatever. Writing this means Im thinking again, which is bad. So I’ll stop. Instead I can look forward. I have 8 days left in Norway. The time is running fast. Suddenly the day is here, and Im leaving! Strange. But wow, how cool! 3 amazing months in Holland are waiting, and then.. Melbourne FTW ;)

Btw – check out this amazing blog from New Jersey, USA. I would love to find one! USA next? ;)

15 days left. right.

Exiting times to come. But also goodbyes. This summer has consisted of many goodbyes. Every month, someone new has left the city. Or even worse. The country. I have two goodbyes left. Goodbye to Jose who goes back to Spain after some months here. And then a big farewell to everyone else. Before I leave myself. I think it will be hard. But hey. If I dont say goodbye. Its not possible to do what I wanna do. So its totally worth it. And when its hard to say goodbye it only means that they have a place in my heart. We will meet again. And I cant meet them again if I dont say goodbye. ‘Cause then i would never leave them. Hah.

Anyway. Im looking forward to the goodbye evening. Yea. I will have to say goodbye. But i also have to say hello! To who? Well. Daniel from Holland will come and party with us! Awesome, right?

Besides from this. I also have to say goodbye to my family. Thats not easy either. The difference between goodbye to friends and family are big. Friends says: Awesome Patsy! Do it! You’re gonna have the time of your life! Enjoy it, Im jealouse as! If I find time, I’ll come and visit you for sure! Family have one question: «Why?». And then they are very sceptical. To everything. I can understand that. But let me do it anyway. If its not working out. Let me learn by myself. I love you all, but I need to experience something complete different from what I’m used to. Maybe I will miss out on important things. Like birthdays, christmas, and children growing up, etc. etc. But sorry. I just have to be selfish and do it. Im coming back! You can come and visit me as well! :)

Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I’ll miss you
Until we meet again!

But hey. I still have 15 days left! 4 of them in Oslo. Yeaps. On thursday Im going to Oslo. I’ll be back on sunday. And then its the week of goodbyes. But not yet. Not yet. :D

Ich bin eine groze wienerschnitzel!

In 43 days, Im on my way to Amsterdam.

– Ride with friends, or bus alone from Trondheim to Oslo.
– Plane from Oslo to Amsterdam.
– Stay in a hostel or cheap hotel the first night in Amsterdam, catch up with some random CS’people and hit the coffeeshops!
– Day 2, meet the randoms, Dutch and awesome chatroulette guys Daniel and Job with friends. Party on and sleep on their couch in Rotterdam for the next days!
– After 5 days in Holland, I’ll meet some Couchsurfers and hitchhike with them to Münich.
– When I reach Münich, find a couch is first on the agenda.
– Then, locate the Octoberfest and go party!
– And ofcourse, I’ll meet Kara from Australia, a girl we met one night in Prague! Superduperawesome!
– Havent booked my flight back yet, but I will. 2nd of October I think. Or 6th. Dont know yet, its an issue Im trying to figure out. The cheapest flight ticket are the 6th, but then again, I will use money between 2nd and 6th.. Hmmm.. Have to find out.

Is this girl crazy? What went wrong during her childhood? Travelling alone? Meeting people she dont know so well? Hitchhiking? Havent booked her flight back yet? Or her accomandation? And…. money? Oh dear…, she is stupid. Yea, if you say so. :) (No, not really, its a good plan.)

I’m happy.

Ok. I live with my mother. Not the coolest thing to do when your’e 22, but so far.. so good. Its ok. And I have the best matress ever. And its nice to be with Irre again. My blue birdiebird. Yea, I dont think these months will be so bad as I had assumed. Anyways…

I’m happy.

Even if I miss my friends from school. Absolutely fantastic people. Even if I miss living in Klæbuveien. Thanx for some awesome months. Even if… Even if… Well. I dont wanna be negative, so I leave the space open, its many reasons to not be happy. As always.

But Im staying positive. At least so far. Its stupid to be negative. I dislike to be it. So I try to avoid it. I’m happy as hell :D

I may not even have a good reason right now, but I dont need to. I just think happy thoughts and look forward to all the things that will happend the next months. And things that already have happend. Like the wedding I was at. It was beutiful, and it made me belive in love ;) Two people finding eachother, two people promising eachother to live togheter for the rest of their lives. I had a tear in my eye. Congratulations Christina and Svein-Arild <3

In 2 days, Im going to BBQ with good friends in Sykkylven.
In 17 days, Im going to Elisabeth and Bjørn’s wedding.
In 1 month and 14 days, Im going to Amsterdam and Münich.
In 5 months and some days, Im going to Australia!

Great festival. Trænafestivalen is the best. Ive been at both Storåsfestivalen and Sommerfestivalen before, but it cant be compared. Its party and music. Ofcourse. And both partying and the the music was more than great. But it was also such a beutiful nature. Really. On fridaynight when «DumDum Boys» played the last concert, the clock was about 01.00 am, I was still on my volunteerduty, and I looked around. I was stunned for a moment. I cant explaine it, but I havent a picture of it either. But it was sun, it was happy people, it was music and again, it was sun. (Wait, Im sure I can find a picture of it on the internet)

Yeah, I found one... Midnightsun <3

I wanna travel. I wanna travel NOW! Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Turkey, Greece, USA, Canada, England, Spain, France, Netherland, Germany… I wanna visit them all! In September, I have a one-way ticket to Amsterdam. Its crazy. But I will probably buy one returnticket from Münich. Im not sure though. I guess we’ll just see. Im really looking forward to it though. And in December. Yeah. Australia, Melbourne! Thats one thing I really really look forward to. On the backside of the planet. 10 hours into the future. Its gonna be epic. I feel misplaced in Trondheim right now. But in 6 months I can look back and I can say; «It wasnt that much waiting, 6 months went faster than I thought!» Woaw.

I got a bunch of english-talking friends lately, so I’m thinking about turning this blog into a english blog. Dont know if the idea is so great though, because my english tend to be very bad sometimes. Well. Lets just start with this post first. And then lets see. I assume that after being in Australia, my english is better, so maybe I just keep the blog in norwegian until then. Anyway. This post is on english, so lets rocka rolla!

After my two british couchsurfers Rob and Row left the city, I’ve already had one more. Chelsea from Pennsylvania, United States. She was studying in Germany though. It was so fun, we had a lot of conversation about the differences between countries and people. It was… intresting! Now, I’m just waiting for another email from a random couchsurfer. I want more people to visit, it’s a great way of getting better experience with socialising to strangers, and a better understanding of other countries, religions and cultures. As well as a really good experience with my own english. The whole couchsurfing idea is so great, I can’t belive it! Why is’n it more common? I really recommend you to try it out if you think this is something for you, you won’t regret! I promise!

Another great way to be better in my english is to talk it alot. So. Why am I not more upstairs here where I live? Second floor is a really international floor, with awesome people from France and Spain. (as well as awesome norwegian people). Today, I’ve been up there for several hours, and it was fun. I tryed to skateboard, but that part was a bit difficult. I also got a very short lesson in Photoshop, so hopefully I’ll learn some more trick. And. Not to forget. I learned a bit spanish! «Hola señors y señoritas. Mañana noche, tu y yo es fiesta y cerveza. ¿Por favor loco? Jajajaja» Haha, well. I’m not so good. But I am gonna be better. Thanks to Pablo and his awesomeness.

Tomorrow, me and Tine, Helene and TJ are going to the office that are sending us down to Australia. We have to find out what we wanna study, and then we will aply for school, lessons and schoolarships. I’m so exited, I hope the summer and fall will pass away fast!

Wow. I actually made it. A whole blogpost on english. I bet its crappy english though. Anyway, it’s stille better then my spanish. I’m pretty sure that this will be the first and last english post in a while though. But I’m not sure. Let us just wait and see.

Buenas noches. (Good night)

Couchsurfing. Genialt. I tell u. Genialt. Jeg savner dem allerede. Ok. La meg starte fra starten.

I forriggård, klokken 20.00 fikk jeg mail. Fra ei side på nettet. Ok. La meg starte enda litt tidligere.

Yoav. Fra Israel. Kul fyr. Virkelig. Ikke no profilbilde, ikke no alder etc. Så glemte jeg hele greia.

. I forriggård. Fikk jeg en mail. Klokken 20.00. Awesome.

KULT! I tell u! Snurrende gulv. Kult! Men fy fader.

Savn.

Norge VS. Australia. – Drømmer VS. Planer.

Posted on

Planer.

Australia mon tro?

Blinky Bill!
